It's that time again! The 2017 Spring Bench Bar Conference

This time with three hours of ethics in a joint session in the morning, lunch provided, and then two break-out sessions - one for family and civil law attorneys, the other for criminal law.

Free CLE for paid members of the Bell County Bar Association. $45 for non-member attorneys and $25 for non-member paralegals.

The 2016 Fall Golf Tourney & Dove BBQ will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the Stonetree Golf Course in Killeen (www.golfkilleen.com).

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GOLF and/or SPONSOR A HOLE, PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP.

Your tournament package includes 2 mulligans, 18 holes of golf (shotgun start @ 1:30 p.m.), and a dinner buffet / awards ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m.

Golf is limited to attorneys and paralegals and their immediate family, and persons with jobs in associated law fields. Everyone is invited for dinner!

This event is BYOC (bring your own chair). Proceeds benefit the Allison Dickson Baylor Law School Scholarship. Allison Dickson is a Temple native, a member of the Bell County Bar Association, and a graduate of Baylor Law School.

DVD CLE - Criminal Law 101

The Bar Association will be hosting a DVD CLE on Friday, April 29, 2016, in the courtroom for the 27th Judicial District Court, 2nd Floor of the Bell County Judicial Complex. 
 
$75 for 4.5 hours of participatory credit, including one hour of ethics. Criminal Law 101 is the topic, a flyer with additional details attached. This is one of the most cost effective ways to get CLE credit locally.
 
Please pre-register by emailing cindi@lindleylawoffices.com, and indicate your preference to receive a flash drive or a course book. Those who do not indicate a preference will receive a flash drive.
 
Walk-ins will be accepted the day of the course, but will receive a flash drive.
 
Note this is a bring-your-own lunch event.

5th Annual MG Lawrence H. Williams Moot Court Competition

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

This year, participants will be debating the application of Miranda rights in the high school setting. Students from across Central Texas will test their appellate advocacy skills in the 5th Annual MG Lawrence H. Williams Moot Court Competition.

Volunteer judges are needed to hear oral arguments, evaluate and score the student’s performance, as well as provide feedback to students.

This unique opportunity is a valuable and memorable experience for both students and judges alike.

Preliminary Rounds will be held at the participating High Schools:

  • Belton High School, Belton, Texas
  • Harker Heights High School, Harker Heights, Texas
  • Del Valle High School, Del Valle., Texas
  • Ellison High School, Killeen, Texas
  • Creekview Law Academy, Carrollton, Texas
